05-28-09 Dispatch has a new radio system and it is fairly easy to use. At the time of this writting they are still working on finishing up the installing of the system but we have been using it a couple of days. We all are still learning how to tweak it to our own style for whoever is dispatching. For the most part I think this change has been going well but I haven't been around while most of the work has been going on. That is one benefit of working midnights, not having to work around the mess of workers making the change over. :) I believe Crissy has taken some pictures during this install and I will post them later after I receive them. Some of the training that has been taken since the last update is Deb took a course on Emergency Police Dispatch. Crissy, Darcy, Bonnie, and Cynthia all took classes in Mental Health First Aid. Bonnie also took a course in Introduction to Hazardous Materials. Plus we each practice each month on using the TDD in case we get calls from someone with a hearing problem.
